How AI-literate is your board?

APRA has written to regulated boards about AI, ISO/IEC 42001 has set a management standard for it, and the Voluntary AI Safety Standard spells out what directors are expected to have in place. This assessment shows where your board sits today. Your answers stay private, and your result with a personalised 90-day plan arrives by email within a minute.

What you get

A score on two axes: Governance Maturity, which covers the structures you have in place, and Director Capability, which covers your people. A personalised 90-day plan arrives by email within a minute.

If your result suggests we can help, we may get in touch. You're free to ignore it.

Who it's for

Directors, board chairs, CEOs, COOs and CFOs of Australian businesses with 20 to 500 staff. It's most relevant for boards in financial services regulated by APRA, professional services such as legal, accounting and advisory, health and care providers including allied health, medical practices and aged care, and organisations close to government such as not-for-profits, peak bodies and government contractors.

Your answers are private. We don't sell, share or publish individual responses, and we use combined results for research only.

Questions about the index

How long does it take?

Five to seven minutes. There are 14 multiple choice questions and no free text.

Who is it for?

Directors, board chairs, CEOs, COOs and CFOs of Australian small and mid-sized businesses. It's most relevant for entities regulated by APRA, professional services firms, health and care providers, and organisations that work closely with government.

Is this the same as your AI readiness assessment?

No. This one is for boards and directors and measures literacy and governance maturity. The AI readiness assessment is for IT teams preparing to deploy AI tools. They're designed as a pair, so you can take both.

What happens to my answers?

We store them privately for 90 days so you can come back to your result, and we use combined results with no identifying details for research. We never sell or share individual responses. Your contact details go into our CRM so we can send your result. We may follow up with something relevant to it, and the report has a link to book a call if you'd like to talk.

Should I answer for the whole board, or should each director take it?

Either works. If you answer for the board, describe what's in place today rather than what's planned. If directors take it separately, comparing your scores makes a useful board development exercise.

What if we get a low score?

The report tells you what to fix first. A typical Australian small or mid-sized board starts in the at-risk band, and the 90-day plan is written for that starting point.
